Dada Vrata
Dada created so much art that he literally had to double layer his works on the walls of his office!

Two Ananda Marga Mission members were senselessly murdered (and a third seriously wounded) during a car-jacking incident in the Kangemi Slums of Nairobi, July 2, 2008.
The founder and principal of Ananda Marga Academy, Dada Vratadhiirananda (pictured left and below) and the head teacher of the Academy's primary school, Dada Harinathananda, were shot and killed. A third monk, Dada Aksarananda, sustained injuries that left him fighting for his life following the attack. Dada Aksarananda is in charge of relief supplies at the Ananda Marga offices in Mt. View. To date, those responsible for these horrible crimes have not been apprehended.
Dada Vratadhiirananda was a good friend to Program Coordinator, Mark Okello, and highly respected by the rest of the Jirani Project. He will be remembered not only as a passionate educator and artist, but as a selfless and happy human being, as well.
The Jirani Project would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest sorrow and sincerest condolences to the members of the Ananda Marga community, the faculty, staff and students of Ananda Marga Academy, and to the friends and families of Dada Vratadhiirananda and Dada Harinathananda. Additionally, we wish a very full and speedy recovery to Dada Aksarananda.
